3) CHEESE AND ONION CASSEROLE

You will need:

  • 8 oz. onions. sliced
  • 4 oz. Swiss cheese grated
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 2 c. skim milk
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 4 slices enriched white bread, crumbled, divided in half

To prepare to combine all the ingredients except 1/2 of the bread crumbs in a casserole dish. Mix them well and then top the casserole with the remaining bread crumbs. Place the casserole in the oven and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes (or longer if the casserole is not cooked all the way through. The finished casserole should serve 4 people.
