That time we tried the best cakes in San Francisco

Like many people around the world, we have an enormous sweet tooth and we love to try every new desserts shop in SF. On our search for the best cakes in San Francisco, we arrived at Yigit Pura’s Tout Sweet Patisserie and were absolutely blown away by the offerings. Here’s a list of all the yummy delights we found ourselves gorging on.

Since we were looking for the best cake, this is the first item on the menu we turned to. We could choose from two types of cakes: celebration cakes and individual desserts. The celebration cake flavors ranged from a classic vanilla cake to a special chocolate cake. People who are looking for a fruitier flavor (like we were) have the option to go for a delicious passion fruit & raspberry cake or a delightful berries & lemon cream cake. All the cakes use fresh ingredients including fresh berries and organic strawberries with unique ingredients such as Oolong tea infused white chocolate mousse, chocolate crunch, raspberry confiture, and vanilla bean mousseline.

With over a dozen options to choose from, it was hard picking what individual desserts we would like to try. We tried the coffee infused ‘C4’ which was glazed with salted caramel. ‘Baker’s Bar’ had roasted peanut butter in the ingredients that really did it for us. There are so many options to choose from, people looking for a different flavor can try the many tart flavors including Citrus Double Meringue, Raspberry-Hibiscus, and Apple Gianuja.

The tasty Macarons covered literally every type of flavor. We tried some Coffee & Hazelnut Praline, Exotic Banana, Guittard Dark Chocolate, and Apricot-Passion Fruit. They were baked to perfection and had a nice crisp texture as they should.

Freshly baked cookies are the best cookies and we got to try some amazing recipes. We tried the salted walnut shortbread cookie sandwich with a burnt caramel buttercream filling. There was even a variety that had sweet spices and molasses.

Pate de Fruit

This chewy, soft morsel is a classical candy from France that we found ourselves falling in love with. Flavors included raspberry fig, apricot, and strawberry. We couldn’t decide which one we liked best; each has its own mouth-watering flavor.

Nibbles and Kisses

Keeping a bag of nibbles handy is a great way to satiate your sweet tooth on-the-go. Here we had the options of crunchy caramel & chocolate macadamia, almond, hazelnut, and peanut. Other sweet items were lemon, passion fruit, and raspberry kisses.

When we inquired as to how all of the menu items were kept so fresh, we found out that each of the stores were supplied on a daily basis meaning every item in the store was always freshly baked. Apart from the amazing taste, the store also offers a delivery service all over San Francisco on most of its items and allows pre-booking of confectionaries for events like weddings and birthdays. If you’re looking for the best cakes in San Francisco, this is your best bet.
